After hosting the recent fundraising event and men’s tournament, and following last week’s round at Alexandra, the Saturday golfers were pleased to return to Marysville. All players competed in a Stableford round, with the ladies round including the Norman Trophy. Heather Jenkins (21) won the trophy with 35 points, followed by Helen Howard (25) with 33 points. Heather also claimed nearest the pin on the 9th and 11th holes, and members warmly congratulated her on her strong and consistent form.

The men’s winner was Brian Worcester (20) with an excellent score of 39 points, with Peter Lilley (16) close behind on 37 points. Adam Littlejohn secured nearest the pin on the 11th, and Keith Atwell produced the best tee shot on the 4th and also won the Golden Shot. It was a pleasure to welcome Fiona Wright to the ladies’ competition, and members look forward to her joining the regular Saturday competitions. Next Saturday, a mixed 4BBB will be played, with partners drawn prior to play.

On Thursday, the penultimate ladies’ Dalhousie event for 2025 was held at Kilmore. While Kilmore won their own Bowl with 104 points, the three Marysville players were close runners-up, just two points behind. Congratulations to Bev Bellman, Heather Jenkins and Margaret Blair on this impressive result. The Marysville ladies, whilst a small cohort, have represented the club at numerous Dalhousie events throughout the year, travelling—sometimes twice—to Alexandra, Avenel, Seymour, Romsey, Lancefield, Yea, Strathbogie, Euroa, Kilmore and Mansfield. Members extend their thanks for their commitment to representing the club so widely.

The Thursday nine-holers played a 4BBB on the back nine, with Keith Atwell (10) and Peter Doery (18) combining effectively to score 22 points, narrowly edging out Ray Jones (11) and Gail Leigh (7) on 21 points. Gail won nearest the pin on the 18th hole.

On Thursday 27 November, the Dalhousie Veterans will play at Marysville, followed the next day by the Annual Golf and Cycling Day. Members are reminded that a working bee will be held at the club on Tuesday 9 December from 8.30am.
