Marysville Golf Report 2 August

A week of reasonable weather saw a number of golfers return to the two weekly competitions at Marysville. The Thursday nine holers played stroke on the back nine holes and the winner was Brian Worcester followed by Mark Alexander who also won the nearest the pin on the 11th hole. Gail Leigh won nearest the pin on the 18th and the putting with 15 putts.


The ‘fair weather golfers’ came out of the woodwork on Saturday to play for the August monthly medal. Gail Leigh (12) with 75 nett was the ladies medal winner, followed by Sabrina Stow (24) with nett 82. Drew Kaempkes (11) won the men’s medal with nett 72 on a countback from Brian Worcester (19). The nearest the pins were won by Drew Kaempkes, Peter Lilley, Glen Rattay and Richard Clark who also won the Golden Shot. Hayden Ruddock won the putting with 27.


On Thursday at Marysville, the Dalhousie Veterans will play a 3-person ambrose for the Presidents Cup with a 9.00 am arrival for a 9.30 tee off. For a $20 annual fee all Dalhousie golfers over 55 years of age are encouraged to join the Veterans competition and enjoy playing on various courses around the district. 


Next Saturday all golfers will play a stableford round
