It has been a few months since the Marysville golfers have felt the sun on their backs but the glorious Spring sunshine last Saturday provided them with such pleasure . Both the ladies and men played a stroke round for the September monthly medal and the ladies round included the final of the Barton Shield. The men’s winner was Andrew O’Shea (7) with nett 71 on a countback from Ming Kuan (19). Andrew also won the putting with 25 putts and his round included an Eagle on the Par 4 12th hole. The ladies winner was Lesley Rundle (34) with nett 73 and the runner up was Gail Leigh (10) with nett 75. The nearest the pins were won by Adam Littlejohn, Keith Atwell, Jody Doran and Mark Bambery who also won the Golden Shot. Next Saturday the club AGM will be held at 9.00am in the clubrooms after which golfers will play a stableford round.
Detailed information regarding the Trivia Night on September 21st, the 50th Anniversary of the opening of the back nine holes and fundraiser on Saturday November 9th and the mixed tournament the following day can be read on the Marysville Golf Club’s website. Preparations for all these events and the ladies tournament on October 10th are well under way.
