Golf Report - 3 February 2024

Last Saturday the 3rd round of the 2024 Foodworks Murrindindi Masters was held at Alexandra GC.  In perfect conditions 94 golfers from Marysville, Eildon, Yea and Alexandra played a stableford  round. The ladies Alexandra Mini Master was Sharon Grogan  from Yea with 38 points and the men’s Mini Master was Jarrod Sloane from Alexandra with an excellent 42 Points. Congratulations to Sharon and Jarrod. Marysville winners were Jody Doran who was the A Grade runner up with 35 points on a countback from Mim Page and Vicki Clements, Lesley Rundle who won B Grade with 34 points and Paul Martin who won C grade with 41 points. At the presentation captain Brendan Smith, on behalf of all those present, thanked profusely all the Alexandra members who had contributed in some way to a successful event. He also introduced Cathie Harper to the group who was representing Foodworks and who presented the winners with their trophies. Foodworks have been generously sponsoring the Masters for 15 years  and the competition was instigated by Norm Reddrop, an Alexandra member, as a way of uniting golfers in the area after the 2009 Black Saturday fires. The 4th and final round of this years competition will be held at Yea on Saturday 10th February after which the 2024 Masters Champions will be announced.


The next Saturday competition at Marysville will be a stroke round on the 17th February  for the February monthly medal. The ladies will also be playing the first round of the Barton Shield.
