Golf Report - 27 April 2024

On Saturday both the men and the ladies played a stableford round. The men played the second round of the Barton Cup and the ladies played for the Mavis Hadfield Trophy. Congratulations to Helen Howard (24) who with 36 points won the Mavis Hadfield Trophy. The ladies runner up was Gail Leigh (11) with 34 points. The men’s winner was Colin Davies (26) with an excellent 38 points followed by Alan Howard (17) with 34 points. The nearest the pins were won by Gail Leigh and Ross Ansell who also won the Golden Shot. Travers and Sabrina Stow hosted a group of seven friends for the weekend and they all joined members to play 18 holes and enjoyed the course and the Autumn weather. Next Saturday both the ladies and men will play stroke for the May monthly medal and the ladies round will include the second round of the Barton Shield.


On Sunday the men’s pennant team played Strathbogie at Eildon and lost 2-3. That concluded the qualifying rounds of their division and members congratulate Yea and Eildon who will play in the final on Sunday 5th May at Strathbogie. Thanks to Steve Coker, Richy Clark, Keith Atwell, Peter Lilley, Colin Davies, Steve Berry for playing pennant and special thanks to captain Alan Howard for playing and organising the season. On Monday the ladies team played Seymour/Trentham at Broadford in the third round of their pennant season. Results will be given next week.


The ladies continue to travel around the district to play in events at other clubs. Last Wednesday three ladies played in the Mansfield Bowl which is part of the NE Golf District. Heather Jenkins won a nearest the pin and we congratulate Yea ladies for winning the Mansfield Bowl. This week ladies will travel to Euroa to play in the ladies tournament.
