Golf Report - 11 May 2024

Last Saturday another perfect day greeted the Marysville members for a stableford round and a number of green fee players also took advantage of the weather and well -prepared course to enjoy a game.  Members welcomed Bryce Fisher and Simon Callen from Eastern GC and Heritage GC to the competition and Bryce dominated the nearest the pin competition winning 3 out of 4 leaving just the 9th hole for Gail Leigh to win with a gobbler with her second shot. Another great achievement was an Eagle played by Peter Lilley on the 2nd hole. The hole is a Par 4 and Peter hit his second shot into the hole. Well played Peter. The ladies winner was Margaret Blair (32) with an impressive 39 points followed by Helen Howard (23) with 34 points. The men’s game included the 3rd round of the Barton Cup and the winner was Peter Lilley (14) with an excellent 41 points. Richie Clark (15) was the runner up on a countback from Adam Littlejohn with 37 points. The final of the Barton Cup will be played on Saturday 8 June. Next Saturday the men will play Par for the first round of the Par Shield and the ladies will also play a Par round.

On Monday 6 May the ladies Pennant team played Alexandra in the 5th round of the Dalhousie Pennant season at Kilmore. Marysville defeated Alexandra 4-1 and members thank Jody Doran, Heather Jenkins, Mim Page, Helen Howard and Jenny Coleman for representing Marysville.
