Golf Report - 18 May 2024

Last Saturday It was a tough day for all the golfers who played a Par round and they found good scores hard to come by. Heather Jenkins (19) with plus 2 was the only player to register a plus score. Congratulations to Heather for her excellent round. The ladies runner up with minus 1 was Mim Page (21) , the men’s winner was Keith Atwell (18) with square followed by Richie Clark (15) with minus 1. The men’s round was the first round of the Par Shield with Colin Davies, Richie Clark, Keith Atwell and Alan Howard qualifying for the final later in the year. The nearest the pins were won by Steve Coker, Ming Kuan, Heather Jenkins, and Ray Jones who also won the Golden Shot. Next Saturday both the men and ladies will play a stableford round with all entry fees and raffle takings donated to a local charity.

On Monday 13th May, in the final qualifying round of the 2024 Dalhousie Pennant season, the ladies  team played Kilmore at Seymour. Marysville lost 4 ½   - ½ which meant that Kilmore reached the final of Division 1. Congratulations to Kilmore who will play Seymour/Trentham in the final with Romsey and The Dalhousie Veterans playing in the Division 2 final. The finals will be played at Lancefield. Members would like to thank Jody Doran, Heather Jenkins, Mim Page, Helen Howard, Jenny Coleman, Lesley Rundle and Margaret Blair for playing pennant throughout the season.

The ladies Dalhousie event last week was the Alexandra Tournament in which 5 Marysville ladies played. Beverley Bellman (38) won C Grade with net 71 which was the best net score of the day.  Heather Jenkins, Helen Howard and Bev Bellman each received Player of the Year points. Thanks to the Alexandra ladies for their hospitality. This week ladies will travel to Strathbogie to play in their annual Bowl.
