It was another glorious sunny day for the Marysville golfers when last Saturday both the men and the ladies played a stroke round. The ladies game was the fourth and final round of their Club Championships and with the results of three of the four rounds taken into account Jody Doran (11) was declared the 2024 Ladies Scratch Champion. Jody scored 86, 87 and 88 for a total of 261. The winner of the handicap section was Heather Jenkins (20) with nett 71,72 and 74 and a total of nett 217. The club congratulate both ladies for their well deserved win. Heather and Jody also played well in the daily competition with Heather winning with nett 72 and Jody was runner up with nett 77. The men’s daily winner was Steve Coker (19) with nett 69 followed by Ken Whittingham (32) with nett 71. Nearest the pins were won by Keith Atwell, Andrew O’Shea, Peter Lilley and Adam Littlejohn who also won the Golden Shot. Heather Jenkins won the putting with 28 putts. Members welcomed Mark Barlow from Morwell to the competition who was visiting Marysville on a trip around Victoria. Next Saturday both the men and the ladies will play stroke for the November monthly medal.
Organizers of the 50th Anniversary Golf Competition and Dinner on Saturday 9 November and the Men’s/Mixed Tournament on 10th November are still accepting entries and details of each of those events can be read on the Marysville Community Golf and Bowls Club website. Members are asked to please sign the list for entry into the Murrindindi Masters at Eildon on Saturday 16 November and those who are able to assist in any way with a working bee at the club during the week beginning Monday the 4th November are asked to contact Jody Doran on 0412 654 555.
