Updated: Jan 23, 2023

Whilst during the Christmas and New Year period golfers have continued to play each Saturday and Thursday as per the syllabus the Dalhousie and inter club events have just recently commenced.

On Saturday 14 January the Yea golf club hosted the first round of the Foodworks Murrindindi Masters. This competition was instigated by Norm Reddrop, a member of the Alexandra Golf Club, in 2011 as a way of golfers from the Murrindindi clubs, Alexandra, Eildon, Marysville and Yea gathering together for a game of golf on each course. The competition continues to be generously sponsored by Foodworks for which all clubs are grateful. A total of 105 golfers played at Yea which was well organised under the coordination of Vicki Clements. The Ladies Mini Master winner was Helen Findlay from Alexandra and the Men’s section was won by Russell Wealands from Yea. Congratulations to Helen and Russell. Trophy winners from Marysville were Miriam Page and Rebecca Lee winner and runner up in A Grade, Travers Stow runner up in B Grade and Yewls Kuan, Rebecca Lee (2) and Beverley Bellman each won a nearest the pin. The second round of the Masters will be hosted by Marysville on Saturday 28th January.

Last Thursday the nine holers played stroke on the back nine. The winner was Richy Clark with net 35 followed by Ray Jones with net 36. Brian Worcester won the nearest the pin on the 18th hole missing a hole in one by about 1.5 cms.
