Marysville Golf Report 4 June

This report should perhaps be titled ‘Marysville Golf Nothing Much to Report’ as the week of heavy rain and strong winds kept golfers at home rather than on the golf course. Thursday was a particularly wild day and no one ventured out to play in the usual nine-hole competition.

The course whilst wet in patches remained open and golfers played a stroke round for the July monthly medal and the second round of the Winter Aggregate. The ladies winner of the medal was the ever stoic and consistent Gail Leigh (12) with nett 75 and Michele Mansfield (26), who recently returned from a memorable holiday overseas, was the runner up with nett 81. Gail also won the Winter Aggregate with nett 146. Peter Lilley (16) with nett 73 won the men’s medal followed by Steve Coker (19) with nett 75. Glen Rattay and Keith Atwell will play in a play-off for the men’s Winter Aggregate next week having each finished with nett 152. The nearest the pins were won by Gail Leigh, Brett Mansfield and Glen Rattay who also won the Golden Shot. Peter Lilley won the putting with 26 putts.

Next Saturday golfers will each play 4BBB ‘with a twist’ whereby two stableford scores are combined when names are randomly drawn after play. The highest combined score wins the day.
