It is with sadness that we have been informed about the death of long time former member Len King. Len died early in February after suffering pancreatic cancer and having a stroke in December 2021.

Len was a popular member of the club and was Vice President in 1996 and 1997 and President from 1998 until 2001. His name is also on the Hole in One honour board in the clubhouse. He was renowned for his sense of humour and wit and was an excellent story teller.

Len and his family lived in Marysville, Buxton and Taggerty before retiring down to Inverloch. His wife died a few years ago and he is survived by his 4 children.

According to his daughter Karen ‘he loved the Marysville Golf Course and Club’ and was so happy that he was able to visit the club in November with his son Terry and share memories of his time there.

A photo of Len smiling as he looked at the Honour Board was used on the Order of Service at his funeral on Friday 18th February at Wonthaggi.

The Marysville members and committee send their condolences to the family.
