Last week with weather conditions more settled the golfers enjoyed being out on the course and were able to admire the stunning Marysville golf course rhododendrons and azaleas now in full bloom.

On Saturday all golfers played a stroke round for the October monthly medal and the first round of the Club Championships. The ladies medal and daily winner was Sabrina Stow (26) with nett 73 followed by Heather Jenkins (22) with nett 75. The men’s medal winner was Steve Coker (20) with nett 71 followed by another Stow - Travers (15) with nett 74. Going into the second round of the Championships next Saturday on top of the leaderboards are Gail Leigh, Heather Jenkins, Sabrina Stow, Keith Atwell, Richy Clark, Steve Coker, Travers Stow, and Glen Rattay.  The nearest the pins were won by Glen Rattay, Sabrina Stow and Gail Leigh who also won the Golden Shot. Richy Clark won the putting with 23 putts.

Last Thursday three ladies played in the Euroa Ladies Bowl. 36 players played in the event which was won by the team from Seymour.  Marysville member Lesley Rundle with 32 points was the C Grade runner up on a countback from a Hidden Valley club member. Lesley and Heather’s lucky streak in recent raffles continued with each bringing home a prize from Euroa. Our thanks to the Euroa ladies for their hospitality at this well organised event. The Dalhousie Veterans game will be held this week at Kilmore and the annual Dalhousie Veterans Hume v Dalhousie District competition is being played at Broadford on 19 November.

The Marysville members are looking forward to welcoming players from all over the district and further afield to play in events which they are hosting throughout November and December. The annual fundraising Ambrose teams challenge is being held on Saturday November 7 with a sausage sizzle on arrival, lunch, silent and live auctions, and great prizes. Details of the event can be found on the Marysville Golf Club website and Facebook. The club are collecting  trophies, silent and live auction items and raffle prizes for this event. Members and friends are asked to please contribute items to this cause and all donations will be gratefully received.  Please contact Steve Coker for more information.

The following day November 8 the annual mixed tournament will be held and on December 5 members will be hosting the second round of the  Foodworks Murrindindi Masters.
