The first few months of 2026 have been busy for the Marysville golfers as they have hosted numerous events involving many hours of pre planning and coordination. The Foodworks Murrindindi Masters, The Liesfield Trophy, The Lakeside Challenge, A Golf Clinic, The Sandy Wilson Ladies Bowl, The Dalhousie Veterans, The Junior Invitational Day, The Dalhousie Men’s Pennant and The Tour Elephants Challenge were all very successful events and it was a pleasure for members to welcome many visitors to the club.  When thanking people for their voluntary contributions to any event it is always a dilemma as to who should be named. However, there are people who in this case deserve to be thanked publicly. Many thanks to Heather Jenkins, Colin Davies, Steve Coker, Richy Clark, the staff from the Pavilion Bar and Grill and the volunteers who maintain the course so tirelessly in all weather conditions.

On Saturday the Marysville golfers played a stroke round for the April monthly medal and the ladies game included the second round of the Barton Shield. It was great to see Ken Whittingham back playing golf with the members after a long break. The winner of the ladies medal was Gail Leigh (9) with nett 74 followed by Lesley Rundle (38) with nett 77. The men’s medal winner was Richy Clark (15) with nett 76. The daily winner and runner up were 2 visitors who joined the daily competition- Dave Adamson (2) from Sale with 75 nett on a countback from Anthony Lagratta (14) from Yea. The nearest the pins were won by Colin Davies, Anthony Lagratta, David Douthwaite and Gail Leigh who also won the Golden Shot. Ken Whittingham won the putting with 24 putts. Next Saturday on ANZAC day all golfers will play a stableford round.

The Dalhousie men’s pennant season is well underway but on Monday 13th April the ladies played in the first round of their season. The team of Heather Jenkins, Mim Page, Margaret Blair, Beverley Bellman and Lesley Rundle played and won the match 3/2. Well played ladies and they next play Yea at Euroa. Last Sunday the men played well to beat Eildon at Alex. 3/2 and will play Yea at Broadford next week.
