The Thursday nine holers played the first round of the Winter Finals with a stableford game on the back nine holes. Keith Atwell (10) was the star of the day with a win with 23 points, he won nearest the pin on the 11th hole and had the shot of the day with a birdie on the Par 4 10th hole. Well played Keith. Geoff Fergusson (10) and Amanda Rattay (14) were the runners up each with 18 points. Round two will be played next Thursday and will be stableford on the front nine holes.

Also, on Thursday, two ladies represented the club in the Euroa Bowl. The event drew a field of 34 players from across the Dalhousie District and beyond, competing in a Stableford format.   In a high scoring game, the Kilmore team combined well to win the Bowl. Helen Howard finished with an impressive 35 points, but with high scores across the field, she narrowly missed out on taking home a trophy.

On Saturday both the men and ladies played the second round of the Club Championships. The ladies daily winner was Gail Leigh (12) with nett 73 followed by Jody Doran (12) with nett 77 on a countback from Helen Howard. Steve Coker (17) won the men’s daily competition with nett 69, from Brett Mansfield (13) with nett 70. The nearest the pins were won by Brett Mansfield, Sabrina Stow, Gail Leigh and Steve Coker. Gail also won the putting with 26 putts and Steve won the Golden Shot. At the presentation five visitors from Beaconhills Golf Club were welcomed to the competition. Next Saturday the men will play the third and final round of their Championships, while the ladies will play the third of four rounds.

Next month will be a busy month at the Club with the Anniversary Fundraising event being held on 8 November with the Mixed Tournament being held the next day, Sunday 9 November.  Additionally, the first round of the Foodworks Murrindindi Masters will be held at Alexandra on the 15 November and Marysville will host the Dalhousie Veterans on 27 November. Details on all events can be found on the club website and Facebook page.
