Golf Report - 8 May 2022

The first round of the Dalhousie ladies pennant season was held on May 2nd at Seymour Golf Club. The Marysville team are in Division 2 and they played a team from Broadford. A pennant team comprises a team of 5 with each player going head-to-head with a player from the opposing team. Four of the Marysville ladies won their match and one was drawn so Marysville won 4.5 to 0.5. Well played Marysville and thanks to Miriam Page, Helen Howard, Jenny Coleman, Lesley Rundle and Margaret Blair for representing the club. They next play Strathbogie at Kilmore. The men’s pennant team host the final qualifying round of their pennant competition next Sunday after which the teams to meet in the finals will be announced.


On Friday the club hosted the annual Autumn Victorian Construction Industry Golf and Cycling Challenge. 25 golfers and 7 cyclists enjoyed their activity and gathered together at the club for lunch. The individual winner of the golf was Miles Coker and Miles joined his father, Marysville President Steve and Lakeside member Steve Manallack in winning the team event with 95 stableford points. Jillian Chandler won the ladies event which included the longest drive on the 8th hole and Beverley Bellman was the runner up. Our thanks to all those who attended the event and those who volunteered to help organise it. Glenn Fiske provided the delicious lunch.



Last Saturday a number of players braved the chilly conditions to play a stroke round for the May monthly medal. The ladies round included the first round of the Barton Shield. The ladies medal winner was Helen Howard (24) with nett 77 followed by Heather Jenkins (18) with nett 79. The men’s medal winner was another member of the Howard family, Alan (16) with nett 72 followed by Steve Berry (11) with nett 75. The nearest the pins were won by Steve Coker, Margaret Blair and Steve Berry who also won the Golden Shot.


A number of ladies will play in the Euroa Tournament this week and next Saturday they will play a stroke round for the 4th and final round of their championships, The men will also play stroke.
