Last Saturday it was a pleasure to welcome back the metropolitan members and all the grey nomads after the long lockdown and the interstate travels. The competition was a stableford round and was played in excellent conditions. A number of members commented on the amount of work which had been carried out on the course during their absence. They thanked Kellan Fiske and the course volunteers for their efforts. Even as late a Friday the team had to remove a number of fallen trees as a result of the ferocious overnight storm. Whilst Kellan was cleaning up the course Jillian Chandler spent time clearing the debris from around the clubhouse. Many thanks Jillian.
The ladies’ winner was Gail Leigh (11) with 37 points followed by Heather Jenkins (20) with 33 points. The men’s winner was Richard Clark (15) with 36 points on a count back from Brian Worcester. The nearest the pins were won by Paul Martin, Richard Clark and Ross Ansell. Next Saturday both the men and the ladies will play a stroke round for the November monthly medal.
Last Thursday a number of Marysville ladies played a 3-person ambrose game with ladies from Yea at the Yea Golf Club. Gail Leigh, Miranda Gill and Vicky Butler were the winning team and after play all those who played enjoyed a BYO lunch on the decking. Many thanks to the Yea ladies for their hospitality. On Thursday a number of ladies will play a social game at the Mansfield Golf Club.
Last weekend as part of the Marysville Arts Fest. the club served food platters and wine on the decking overlooking the course. On Sunday Jack Harris entertained the diners with his singing and guitar playing which all those present enjoyed. Our thanks to Colin Davies for coordinating the event and to Lorna Davies and Bev. Fraser for producing such delicious platters. Thanks also to Steve Coker, Miriam Page and Kerryn Mciver for their assistance.
Under covid restrictions a number of Dalhousie events can now take place and will be advertised at a later date.
