Golf Report - 29 July 2023

Last Saturday the Marysville golfers played the second and final round of the Winter Aggregate. The winner of the 2023 ladies winter aggregate was Heather Jenkins with nett 73 in round one and nett 75 in the second round giving her a total of 148. Ross Ansell won the men’s section with a 75 and 62 nett totaling 137. Congratulations to Heather and Ross whose good scores on Saturday also gave them the best scores of the day. The lady's daily runner up was Jody Doran (12) with nett 76 with Steve Coker (16) the men’s runner up with nett 69. The nearest the pins were won by Jody Doran, Keith Atwell, Ross Ansell and Steve Berry who also won the Golden Shot. Mark Alexander won the putting with 27 putts. Next Saturday golfers will play a stroke round for the August monthly medal. During the presentation after play members welcomed back men’s captain Colin Davies from his trip to the Northern Hemisphere and also thanked Richard Clark for substituting for Colin during his absence.

Members are reminded that the club AGM will be held on Saturday 2nd September at 9.00am in the clubhouse. Any player who would like to nominate for a position on the committee is asked to contact President Steve Coker.

On Thursday one Marysville lady and three from Yea played a social game at the Yering Golf Club. They enjoyed playing on the long and challenging course.

It was a pleasure to welcome some lady golfers on a golfing trip from Rossdale Golf Club in Aspendale (pictured right). They spent two nights in Marysville and thoroughly enjoyed their golf on the ‘beautiful course.’

The front nine holes will be closed on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday whilst some dangerous trees and branches are removed from the course. Look out for updates on this throughout the week.
