There is not a lot to report this week as the winter season is well under way and some golfers choose to stay at home in the warm rather than venture out on a wet and cold day to hit a white ball into a small hole.
The Saturday competition was a 4BBB – Four Ball Best Ball - stableford game. This is a partner game with each player playing the hole as per a normal stableford round but it is only the best score of the partnership which is recorded on the card. The partners names were drawn randomly from a hat and the handicap of each player came into play.
The winning combination with an excellent 47 points was Gail Leigh (11) and Jim Bisset (18) and Gail was able to chip in off the green on both the 7th and 12th holes. The runners up were Yewls Kuan (13) and Adam Littlejohn (23) just one point behind with 46 points. The nearest the pins were won by Adam Littlejohn, Jody Doran, Brain Worcester and Duncan Talbot who also won the Golden Shot. Our thanks to captain Colin Davies for organizing the draw and for conducting the presentation.
Next week both the men and ladies will play a stroke round for the July monthly medal and the ladies round will incorporate the second round of the Barton Shield.
Members are reminded that Marysville will be hosting the Dalhousie Mixed Bowl on Sunday August 7th and details will be communicated via the Dalhousie Captains at a later date.
