Whilst on Saturday a number of local courses were closed due to wet conditions underfoot, a number of Marysville golfers in brisk and breezy wintery conditions played a Stableford round. The lady's winner was Jody Doran (12) with 29 points with Gail Leigh (11) the runner up with 28 points. The men’s winner was Steve Coker (17) with 36 points and Mark Bambery (22) was the runner up with 33 points. Nearest the pins were won by Paul Martin on the 18th and Mark Bambery who had a birdie on the 9th and won the Golden Shot.
During the break from the ladies Dalhousie club events the Marysville ladies occasionally play a social game on other courses. Last week Margaret Blair and Heather Jenkins teamed up with Karen Sangster and Adrianne Anglin from Yea to play at Whittlesea G C. Whilst the course was very wet under foot they enjoyed the game and hope to return to Whittlesea at a later date.
Members are reminded that there is a working bee planned for Thursday 29th June from 9.00am with both indoor and outdoor tasks for those of all abilities and expertise.
Next Saturday a stroke round will be played for the July monthly medal and the lady's round will incorporate the second round of the Barton Shield. The mixed match play competition will start on Saturday 15th July and members who wish to be part of the competition are asked to sign the list which is in the member's room.
