Last week, the Thursday “nine holers” played stroke on the front nine holes and the winner was Lloyd Flaherty (10) with nett 34 and Amanda Rattay (11) with nett 36, was the runner up on a count back. Bob Emblin won the putting with 13 putts on a three-way count back. Richy Clark was nearest the pin on the 9th hole, but no one was able to hit the green on the 4th hole. All members and visiting golfers are welcome to join the Thursday 9-hole mixed competition held every week from 12.30 for a 1.00pm hit off with no bookings required.
Whilst some Marysville golfers were playing at home, two ladies played in the Kilmore ladies annual tournament. Congratulations to Heather Jenkins (19) for winning A Grade with a nett 74. Members thank and congratulate Michele Mansfield for playing at Kilmore in her first ladies Dalhousie event. Next Thursday, four ladies will play in the Strathbogie Ladies Tournament and the Dalhousie Veterans event will be held at Eildon on the same day.
Last Saturday the ladies played a stroke round for the rescheduled final of the Barton Shield. The winner was Gail Leigh (13) with nett 75. Jody Doran (11) was the runner up with nett 78 on a countback from Margaret Blair and Lesley Rundle. The men played stableford and the winner was Steve Coker (17) with 36 points followed closely by Keith Atwell (18) with 35 points. The day also included the Captains Trophies with Gail and Steve receiving a gift from the respective Captains. The nearest the pins were won by Heather Jenkins, Peter Lilley, Glen Rattay and Richy Clark who also won the Golden Shot.
Members are asked to please note that next Saturday’s Stableford competition will be an 8.30 for a 9.00 am shotgun start due to the AFL Grand final.
The golf clinics to be held at the club on Friday 26th September, and led by Travis Harrison from Spring Valley GC are fully booked and members thank all the participants for supporting this initiative and Heather Jenkins for coordinating the day.
The dinner being held in the Pavilion Bar and Grill to farewell Kellan Fiske and to thank the supporters of the club is being held on Friday October 3rd with a 6.00pm arrival for a 6.30 start.
