Although there are no Dalhousie events and fewer green fee players during the winter months the Saturday and Thursday club competitions continue as written in the syllabus. The number of players playing in these competitions vary during the winter as the caravanners and interstate travelers go away to find some sun. Thanks to Kellan Fiske and his team of volunteers the course remains playable during the winter months and members can enjoy the competitions and the social golfers can enjoy the course.
On Saturday both the men and ladies played a Par round and the men’s round incorporated the first round of the Par Shield. The men’s winner was Mark Bambery (23) with +3. The runner up was Travers Stow (16) with +1 on a countback from Keith Atwell. Kelly Lloyd - Vanni (40) won the ladies event with +2 and Jody Doran (12) with +1 was the runner up. The nearest the pins were won by Yewls Kuan, Steve Berry, Ross Ansell and Duncan Talbot. Next Saturday the competition will be a 4BBB with partners drawn on the day.
Whilst the ladies Dalhousie events are in recess the Marysville ladies will play social golf at various courses around the state. These courses include Dorset, Yering, Mansfield, Growling Frog and Benalla. Our thanks to Heather Jenkins for organizing this initiative.
