It was a busy week on the Marysville course, with strong Thursday Stableford play, a successful weekend hosting the inaugural Standpipe Cup fundraiser on Saturday and the Marysville Mixed Tournament on Sunday.
The Thursday nine-holers played a Stableford competition on the back nine. Richie Clark (8) took out the win with 20 points, followed by Mark Alexander (5) on 19 points. Nearest the pins were claimed by Keith Atwell on the 11th and Geoff Ferguson on the 18th. The shot of the day went to Bob Emblin, whose ball on the 17th fairway crossed the bridge and finished on the green.
Saturday’s event was the annual fundraiser, combined with the inaugural Standpipe Cup, generously sponsored by Goulburn Valley Water. The format was a four-person Ambrose, with three of the teams being from clubs irrigated by GVW —Mansfield, Yea, and Marysville—competing alongside a Goulburn Valley Water team named the Eco Irrigators.

The winners were a mixed team comprising Steve Coker, Colin Davies, and Fiona Wright from Marysville, and Alison Leyden from Nepean Golf Club. Playing off an Ambrose-adjusted handicap of 11.9, they finished with an impressive score of 57.6. In 2026 The Standpipe Cup will be held at the Mansfield Golf Club.
Running alongside the Standpipe Cup was a general Ambrose competition, which was also won by the same team. Nearest the pins went to Robert Williamson (Rosebud GC), Adam Littlejohn (Marysville), Daryl Horwood (Mansfield), and Alan Pell (Yea). Longest drives were awarded to Luke Gregory (Yea) and Dorrie Jacobs (Karen’s Team), while Natalie Grimshaw (Mansfield) won the straightest drive. Congratulations to all the winners.
During the presentation, Marysville President Steve Coker, thanked the day’s sponsors, visiting golfers, and all the members who helped organize the event. He was also warmly thanked in return for his efforts in preparing and coordinating the day. As part of the golf, silent and main auctions, a raffle, and a delicious lunch provided by the Pavilion Bar and Grill team, it was a fun-filled and successful day.
On Sunday, the annual Marysville-Mixed Tournament was held, with results to be announced in next week’s report.
Next Saturday, golfers from Yea, Eildon, and Marysville will gather at Alexandra Golf Club for the first round of the 2025–26 FoodWorks Murrindindi Masters.
