As the 2023 golfing year comes to an end and people are involved with pre-Christmas activities there is less activity at the club and fewer golfers playing in the competitions. On Saturday those who had won a monthly medal during the year played off for the Medal of Medallist. The ladies winner was Gail Leigh (11) with net 76 on a countback from Heather Jenkins. The men’s winner was Richy Clark (15) with net 72 followed by Brian Worcester (18) with net 80. The men’s daily winner was Travers Stow (19) with net 71 on a countback from Keith Atwell (18). The nearest the pins were won by Travers Stow, Gail Leigh and Colin Davies who also won the Golden Shot. The putting was won by Brian Worcester with 26 putts.
Members are reminded that next week for Presentation Day there will be an 8.00 am arrival for an 8.30 shotgun start. A two-person ambrose will be played with partners drawn on the day. The dress up theme for this year is ‘A Touch of Summer’.
The second round of the Murrindindi Masters will be held at Eildon on January 13th. Those who intend playing in that event are asked to give their name to Richy Clark as soon as possible.
Visitors and locals are welcome to play a round of golf at Marysville throughout the Christmas and New Year period. Contact the club on enquiries@marysvillegolfandbowls.com.au or 0359633241 for details.
