On Tuesday 4 April Marysville members hosted the Dalhousie Veterans golf day with 45 players playing a stableford round. The players came from a number of Dalhousie clubs including Broadford, Strathbogie, Lancefield, Eildon, Euroa and Yea and for some it was their first game at Marysville. Many thanks to all the Marysville members and friends involved with the organisation of the day and to Kellan Fiske and his volunteers for preparing and presenting the course so well.
On Saturday playing numbers were low with some players away for Easter and others reluctant to play after a poor weather forecast. Both the ladies and men played a stroke round for the April monthly medal. The ladies winner was Jody Doran (13) with nett 70 followed by Miriam Page (21) with nett 71. Jody also won the putting competition with 27. Colin Davies was the men’s winner with nett 72 followed by Steve Coker (19) with nett 74. The nearest the pins were won by Steve Coker, Brian Worcester, Peter Lilley and Gail Leigh who also won the Golden Shot. The club congratulates all the winners.
Next Saturday the men will play a stroke round whilst the ladies play a practice matchplay round in preparation for their Pennant season. Their first match will be on Monday 17th April at Kilmore against Romsey. The men will play the third round of their pennant season on Sunday 16th April playing Alexandra at Strathbogie.
On Thursday eight ladies will travel to Romsey to play in their Bowl. Results will be given next week.
