Golf Report - 7 May 2023

On Monday May 1st the ladies played the third round of the Dalhousie pennant season. They played Yea at Kilmore and were beaten by Yea 3-2. The club thank Jody Doran, Mim. Page, Helen Howard, Jenny Coleman and Bev Bellman for playing and congratulates Yea on their victory. On Monday 8th May Marysville, in the fourth round played Lancefield at Seymour and the results will be given next week.


The venue for the Dalhousie ladies event last week was Euroa with the Euroa ladies hosting their annual tournament. Jenny Coleman was beaten in a 2 hole play-off in the scratch event and Bev Bellman received two Dalhousie Player of the Year points. This week 6 ladies will play in the Yea Bowl.


On Saturday both the men and the ladies played a stroke round for the May monthly medal and the ladies game included the first round of the Barton Shield. The ladies medal winner was Margaret Blair (34) with nett 74 on a countback from Gail Leigh (11). The men’s medal winner was Alan Howard (15) with nett 72 on a countback from Peter Lilley (18). The nearest the pins were won by Mark Bambery, Gail Leigh, Ming Kuan and Jody Doran who also won the golden shot. Gail won the putting competition with 28 putts. The Thursday nine holers played the final round of the Summer Cup which was won by Keith Atwell followed by Amanda Rattay. Next Saturday both the men and the ladies will play a stableford round with the men’s round incorporating the final of the Barton Cup.


The Friday Fun afternoon is held every Friday from 1.00pm starting with a few holes of golf before taking part in the fun competitions involving the unique clubs and putters. The bar will be open and this is a good opportunity to gather with some friends for some fun and games.
