Last Saturday an evening of Barefoot Bowls was held on the Marysville golf club bowling green. About 40 people enjoyed a friendly evening of Barefoot Bowls in glorious conditions. The bar was open and some free nibbles were provided. Our thanks to Jody Doran and Duncan Talbot for organising the gathering and our appreciation goes to all those who supported the event. The all-weather floodlit bowling green can be hired by local or visiting groups. Enquiries can be made by contacting the golf club on (03) 5963 3241.
Unfortunately, on Saturday 13 January the club was broken into overnight and a substantial number of tools and equipment including chainsaws, brush cutters, and golf clubs were stolen. The perpetrators, for access, cut through a boundary fence on the Buxton Marysville Rd and drove around the course before breaking into the sheds. This is a major setback for the club and if anyone saw any suspicious behaviour that night would they please report it to the local Police. There were other properties broken into around the same time including at Lake Mountain, The Marysville cemetery and at a local contractors home.
Next Saturday on the 3rd February the third round of the Foodworks Murrindindi Masters will be held at Alexandra and the 4th round will be played at Yea the following week.
